October 11, 2009 marks the fifth annual event to honor the life of Alyssa Bailey Marko, and to help the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital and its Child Life Program, as well as The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Alyssa was 3 1/2 years old when she was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2000. After flying through initial treatment, Alyssa relapsed in October 2002. Alyssa then underwent two bone marrow transplants -- her younger bother the marrow donor. Alyssa lost her battle with cancer in July of 2004. This benefit event honors her brave fight to live. Your generous donation and participation will help other children and adults dealing with cancer here in Central New York at Syracuse's Upstate Medical University and throughout the country through the work of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
